Eight health workers will go on trial over the death of football legend, Diego Armando Maradona after being charged with “homicide by intelligence”, as reported by Argentinian media on Wednesday.

Maradona who led Argentina to a second World Cup title in 1986, died at the age of 60 in November, 2020.
The football icon died from heart failure after undergoing brain surgery days earlier.
Three judges from an appeals court in San Isidro, a town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, rejected defence appeals for a lesser charge and upheld a year-old indictment by prosecutors for “reckless and insufficient work” in the treatment of Maradona.
Diego Armando Maradona was a former player of Boca Juniors and SSC Napoli.

SSC Napoli renamed its home ground Stadio San Paolo to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona following the death of the football legend.
