Former United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has said, the “democratic and economic development” of any nation, depends on “credible polls”.

Mr Johnson made this statement at the 16th Ayiam Osigwe Lecture, held in Lagos, on Tuesday 28, March, which he attended.
The event was chaired by Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and had former United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, as guest speaker.
Also, 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, was in attendance.
The former Anambra State Governor disclosed: “Yesterday, I attended the 16th Ayiam Osigwe Lecture in Lagos chaired by Chief Emeka Anyaoku. Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was the guest speaker, strongly maintained that democratic and economic development hinges on credible polls, education, rule of Law.
“His assertion resonates with the New Nigeria we committed to.”
