The 2023 Governorship election is almost here, and the government of Ogun State has come out to plead with the people of the state to ignore any promo which claims that voters will receive cash reward of ₦20,000 in return for a vote for Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun |
Kunle Somorin, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in a statement said, the state government has nothing to do with the promo.
Somorin said, the promo was to cause harm to the reputation of the governor ahead of Saturday 11 March governorship election.
He said the Ogun governor will ‘never directly or indirectly be involved in vote buying or wooing the electorate with any material inducement to get their votes’.
Part of the statement read: “Governor Abiodun, rather than procuring people’s votes, had embarked on political campaigns to showcase his scorecard, commissioned landmark projects and canvassed for votes for all the All Progressives Congress candidates as well as for his re-election.”
