The Frenchman will be sidelined due to the injury for at least between six and eight weeks.

36-year old Lloris picked up the injury in the Premier League encounter between his side, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs defeated the Citizens by a lone goal, scored by English forward, Harry Kane.

Former Southampton and England international, Fraser Forster, is expected to fill the gap.

Antonio Conte’s Spurs are fifth on the Premier League table and are fighting hard to earn a spot in the top four to enable them qualify for next season’s Uefa Champions League.

This season, Lloris has kept seven clean sheets from 21 League matches.
