A 42-year old man from London had been issued a conditional offer of a fixed penalty, the Police of Lancashire disclosed.

No 10 said Mr Sunak “fully accepts this was a mistake and has apologised”, further saying that he would pay the fine.

When a seatbelt is available and a passenger is caught not wearing it, such can be fined £100, and if the case lands in court, it could rise to £500.

During a trip across the North of England, Rishi Sunak was in Lancashire when the video was filmed.

This is the second time the UK Prime Minister has received a fixed penalty notice while in government.
