European side, Croatia, have won the Bronze medal of the FIFA World Cup 2022, after beating African side, Morocco, by two goals to one at the Khalifa International Stadium, Qatar.
Beautiful goals from Josko Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic was all that the Checkered Ones needed to emerge victorious against the Atlas Lions and finish in third spot of the World Cup for the second time.
The triumph also sees the Captain of Croatia, Luka Modric, end what is probably to be his last FIFA World Cup with a bronze medal.
However, the Real Madrid midfielder has not made up his mind on whether to announce retirement from international football.
Modric is still looking forward to fielding for his country at the Euro 2024, as he has already committed to next summer’s Nations League final.
When asked about the Euro 2024, Modric told beIN SPORTS, “about my future? I don’t know if I will be (playing) until the Euros in Germany.
“We will see. I need to go step by step. I am enjoying the national team. I feel happy.
“I still think I can perform on a high level and I want to continue until at least the Nations League.
“Then after, there will be more time to think about the Euros. Now it is go step by step and continue at least until Nations League and then we will see.”
Gvardiol’s beautiful header in the 7th minute placed Croatia in front, but Morocco responded immediately as Achraf Dari headed home from close range just two minutes later.
The Checkered Ones took back the lead in the 42nd minute through Orsic.
