Wilder will slug it out with Finland’s Robert Helenius at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 15 October.
The 36-year old American said: “It’s been a long journey for me and as of today it continues.”
Wilder lost the fight to Fury in the 11th round after the fight was stopped as the Briton retained his WBC title.
Sometime in May, Wilder was honoured with a statue in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, his hometown. He said the statue made him decide to fight against Helenius.

“Once I got my statue in my hometown and saw so many people arrive and celebrate with me [it] made me feel like my job is not done.”
