Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team, the Falconets, cruised past Canada 3-1 in their final Group C clash at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World in Costa Rica.

The match which took place at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, Alajuela, on Wednesday 17, saw Canada take an early lead in the 2nd minute of play through Laila Novak, however, the Falconets levelled in the 24th minute through Esther Onyenezide from the penalty spot.
In the 32nd minute, Nigeria took the lead from the penalty spot again and Onyenezide converted successfully to make it 2-1 for the Falconets.
Chioma Olise sealed victory for Nigeria with the third goal just one minute into additional time to make it three wins out of three for Nigeria and end Group C as toppers with nine points.
On the other side of Group C, France defeated South Korea by a lone goal scored by Mbakem-Niaro.
With this outcome, France ended Group C in the second spot with six points, South Korea finished with three points and Canada finished with zero.
