Group D – Another shock has been recorded in the World Cup as Wahbi Khazri’s beautiful goal gave Tunisia a 1-0 victory over defending champions France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 match at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.

Khazri, a former Sunderland player from 2016-18, cruised past defender Raphael Varane before displaying amazing courage to poke the ball past Les Bleus goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

There was a loud celebration right inside the stadium as the goal handed the Carthage Eagles a great opportunity of qualifying for the last-16 of the tournament after climbing to the second spot of the Group table.

However, just few minutes after Tunisia hit the back of France’ net, Australia scored Denmark through Mathew Leckie in their final Group match at the Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar.

The Socceroos went ahead to finish as winners of the encounter against the Danish Dynamite.

With this result, Australia move to second, overtaking Tunisia, who drop to third.

France and Australia scale through the preliminaries with six points each and into the knockouts while Tunisia and Denmark find their way back home after finishing with four and one points respectively.
