Ukraine War: ‘We’re going to win’ – President Zelensky pays frontline city of Bakhmut a visit

Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, has announced his visit to the Frontline city of Bakhmut, where forces of Ukraine and Russia have fought a months-long, fierce war.

The presidency revealed, President Zelensky met troops and handed out awards to soldiers.

Russian forces in the Donetsk region have seriously targeted Bakhmut for months and this has caused heavy damages to the area, however, forces of Ukraine have been able to contain the advance.

According to Serhiy Nikiforov, presidential spokesman, President Zelensky had already left the city.

Also at Bakhmut, Hanna Malyar, Deputy Defence Minister, said on social media: “What are 300 days in our more than 300-year struggle for liberation from Russia!


“We’re standing. We’re fighting. We’re going to win!”
