Covid: China stops quarantine for travellers in January

Starting from 8 January, China will put an end to quarantine for travellers, officials disclosed, this will mark the last huge decision from the Asian country’s zero-Covid policy.

It will open the country again to those with work and study visas, or seeking to pay their families a visit, after almost three years of closed borders.

Also, citizens of China will be allowed to travel out of the country, as disclosed by the Immigration Authority on Tuesday.

According to reports, hospitals are overpowered due to the huge number of patients with covid-related problems and elderly people are dying.
