After killing at least ten people, a gunman is still on the loose.
The sad incident occurred near Los Angeles in one of the deadliest mass shootings in California.
Another ten people were wounded and several others in critical conditions.
The shooting happened in Monterey Park, an area which features a large Asian population, briefly after people in thousands had converged for a Lunar New Year Festival.
The gunman started shooting at a bus dance studio in the downtown side of the city.
Captain Andrew Meyer disclosed, people were found “pouring out of the location screaming” as officers reached the scene of the sad incident on Saturday.
Victims were medically attended to both in the car park outside and inside the Star Ballroom Dance Studio, Police disclosed.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, on Sunday, said at a news conference, “we need to get this person off the street as soon as possible.”
Officers are looking for a male suspect between the age of 30 and 50 who escaped the scene. Several witnesses are being questioned.
The reason for the attack is still unknown.
