FA Cup: Manchester United 3-1 Reading – Casemiro score brace to help Red Devils reach fifth round

Manchester United have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup after clinching a 3-1 triumph over Reading in the match at the Old Trafford on Saturday 28 January, 2023.

Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro, described as a “huge signing” by former Manchester United midfielder, Roy Keane, netted two beautiful goals to help Erik Ten Hag’s side progress in the tournament.

The Brazil international gave Man United the lead in the 54th minute, and extended it in the 58th minute.

Another Brazilian midfielder, Fred, made it three for the hosts in the 66th minute.

Reading pulled one back in the 72nd minute through Amadou Salif Mbengue.

About Casemiro, Roy Keane said: “Over the last few years for Man Utd, particularly in the middle of the park, they’ve lacked a quality player with a big personality, a guy with a bit of presence.


“He’s been a huge signing. He’s a top-quality player. We see it week in, week out. He affects games.”
