Uzodimma made this statement at the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja, where he appeared as a guest speaker on the topic “National Security, Strategic Leadership and Development: My Political Experience”.
The “bottlenecks created by corruption” has “bedeviled the processes of accountability and transparency”, Governor Uzodimma said.
Governor Hope Uzodimma said: “In the course of my pursuit for peace, unity and progress through strategic fight against insecurity and social vices, I have always maintained the need for cohesion amongst the citizenry, stakeholders and every organ of Government.
“This, I x-rayed, during my appearance at the National Defence College (NDC) Abuja as a guest speaker on the topic “National Security, Strategic Leadership and Development: My Political Experience.
“While addressing the Military hierarchy present at the summit, I drew their attention on the need to enhance strategic leadership in Nigeria through sustainable development. However, this must be addressed alongside national security because they are intertwined.
“The diverse factors militating against our national security and development must be addressed as well but then, with a human face in order to accommodate the choices and interest of the people.
“From the implementation of reforms in the justice system and the system of governance, we will be able to eliminate the bottlenecks created by corruption which have bedeviled the processes of accountability and transparency.
“It is my recommendation that a holistic approach be implemented and I strongly believe in the reforms so far introduced by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government for a progressive Nigeria.”
