2023 Elections: ‘You can’t build peace on a faulty foundation’ – Peter Obi

The 2023 Presidential election conducted on Saturday 25 February, 2023, produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 2023 Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as Nigeria’s President-elect.

Tinubu emerged victorious in the 2023 Presidential election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

The former Lagos State Governor defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP); Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Rabiu Kwakwanso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP); alongside Presidential candidates of other Political Parties.

Peter Obi has come out to say “we won the election, and we will prove it”.

The former Anambra State Governor made this statement some hours after Tinubu was declared winner of the Saturday Presidential election.

He pleaded with Nigerians to not hesitate to “go out and vote for Labour Party (LP)” on Saturday 11 March, 2023 in the Governorship election’.

Peter Obi said: “If you must be referred to as “Your Excellency”, then the process through which you arrived in office Must be excellent.


“You can’t build peace on a faulty foundation.


“We won the election, and we will prove it.


“I am challenging the process and I have not called anybody.


“Go out on Saturday 11th March 2023, vote for Labour Party (LP).


“I am not going away, I will be with you till the day breaks.


“This is a long journey, and I will go with you. Victory is assured.”
