Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed his feeling of sadness following the accident which happened at PWD, around Shogunle in the morning of Thursday 9 March, 2023, between a moving train and a high capacity bus.

The High capacity bus (BRT Bus) was “conveying staff of the Lagos state government”, as disclosed by Governor Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu extended gratitude to “well meaning Lagosians who immediately joined in rescue efforts” as he offered condolence to the families of the victims, saying “my thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time”.
Casualties have been officially confirmed by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the train/bus accident . The vehicle was conveying staff of the Lagos state government, our staff who serve the state in different capacities.
“Let’s say a prayer for the families and a prayer of mercy and protection for our state.
“My thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
“A big thank you to well meaning Lagosians who immediately joined in rescue efforts. Our first responders and emergency services are on ground and we will share more information shortly.”
