Ramadan 2023: ‘Let us be our brother’s keeper as we fast and pray’ – Governor Sanwo-Olu

Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says, “Ramadan is a time of reflection and purity” as Muslims all over kick off holy month on Thursday 23 March.

After sighting the Crescent moon, Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, announced the holy month of Ramadan will begin on Thursday 23 March.

The Governor told “all Muslim brothers and sisters to be our brothers keeper as we fast and pray”.

He said: “Ramadan is a time of reflection and purity. As we fast and pray, let us be our brothers keeper and extend a hand of kindness to those in need. 


“May this holy month bring you closer to Allah and strengthen your faith in him. 


“Wishing all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Lagos State a peaceful and blessed Ramadan. 


“Ramadan Kareem.”
