President Muhammadu Buhari, last year, “issued the National Park (Declaration) Order, 2022”, for the creation of “10 new National Parks across Nigeria”.

The President has revealed, the Nigerian Senate “has granted concurrence to that order”.
The move “is in line with our resolve to further support and enhance Nigeria’s biodiversity”, Buhari said.
President Buhari said: “Last year I issued the National Park (Declaration) Order, 2022, for the establishment of 10 new National Parks across Nigeria. I am pleased to note that this week the
@NGRSenate
has granted concurrence to that Order, in accordance with Section 18 of the National Park Service Act.
“The establishment of ten new National Parks is in line with our resolve to further support and enhance Nigeria’s biodiversity and conservation activities, and increase the amount of forest cover that is under protective management.”
