King Charles III Coronation: ‘I think the monarchy is terrible for democracy’ – Anti-monarchy protestor

Today, Saturday 6 May, 2023 is King Charles III’s Coronation, however, some protesters are not in support of their new King, wearing t-shirts with isncriptions “Not My King”.

A Leader of an anti-monarchy campaign group, Mr. Graham Smith, was arrested alongside other members of the group along the route to the venue of the coronation.

King Charles III has taken an oath and crowned alongside the Queen Consort Camilla at the Westminster Abbey in London.

However, Tom and Selma, who are not in support of the new King have come out to demonstrate against the Royal family.

Tom said, “I think the monarchy is terrible for democracy. They are a symbol of the glorification of colonialism.”
