Groups of protesters stormed the Appeal Court in Abuja as pre-hearing of the 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal commenced today, Monday 8 May, 2023 |
The protesters are asking the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to stop the inauguration of Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The nameless groups of protesters disclosed they are a coalition of civil societies. They urged the Court to stop the inauguration, on the ground there are still issues pending which involves the APC candidate.
Heavy security at the Appeal Court were able to scatter the protesters to ensure the process continues inside the tribunal.
The 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal commenced pre-hearing today, Monday 8 May, 2023 at the Appeal Court in Abuja and will be presided by a panel of five Judges.
