FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023: ‘Congrats to Spain’ – Barack Obama

Former United States (US) President, Barack Obama, has congratulated Spain after they emerged Champions of the World at the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

Spain discomfited England by a lone goal in the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 at Stadium Australia in Australia on Sunday 20 August, 2023.

It was the first time ever the La Roja clinched the FIFA Women’s World Cup, as well as, the fifth country to win the trophy after the United States of America (USA), Norway, Japan and Germany.

Obama concluded by saying, “the U.S. will be back next time.”

Following their loss, England Boss, Sarina Wiegman, in her post-match comments, said, “we can only be proud of ourselves”.

Obama said: “Congrats to Spain on their first @FIFAWWC victory! The U.S. will be back next time.”
