AFCON 2023 Qualification: Nigeria 6-0 Sao Tome and Principe – Osimhen score hat-trick

SSC Napoli sharpshooter netted a hat-trick to help Nigeria beautifully wrap up their AFCON qualifying series.

The Super Eagles made light work of their visitors taking possession of the encounter form beginning to end.

The hosts scored twice in the first 45 minutes and went ahead to add four more in the second half.

Osimhen opened scoring for the Super Eagles in the 13th minute, and Serie A club Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman made it two in the 27th minute.

Premier League club, Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, scored the third goal for Nigeria in the 51st minute, Osimhen made it four from the penalty spot and five in the 69th and 79th minutes.

Nigerian sealed victory when Samuel Chukwueze netted the sixth in the 84th minute.

With this outcome, Nigeria finished Group A toppers with 15 points while Sao Tome and Principe finished bottom with 1 point, both after six matches.
