Blinken said, “It’s impossible for me to look at the photos of the families killed… and not think of my own children.”

The US Secretary of State went ahead to praise the bravery of Israeli citizens.

Several Israelis both home and abroad have reported for reserve duty to fight alongside soldiers and defend their country from Hamas.

According to Israel Defense Forces (IDF), “300,000 Israelis have reported for reserve duty”.

Blinken said: “It’s impossible for me to look at the photos of the families killed… and not think of my own children.

“Babies slaughtered, bodies desecrated, young people burned alive, women raped, parents executed in front of their children, children in front of their parents.

“How are we even to understand this?”

Antony Blinken said: “I’m in Israel today to make one thing clear: The United States stands with Israel and its people, and we will always stand — resolutely — against terrorism.

“I met with @IsraeliPM Netanyahu in Israel today to reiterate ironclad U.S. support for Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas’ terrorist attacks.”
