He revealed, this was made possible following his discussions with leaders of Israel and Egypt on Thursday 19 October, 2023.

The fighting between Hamas and Israel which has continued to intensify has resulted to the killing of hundreds of innocent civilians both Israelis and Palestinians.

Several other innocent civilians have been displaced in Gaza as a result of retaliatory actions from Israeli forces following a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel, and are in need of humanitarian aid.

President Biden said: “Yesterday, in discussions with the leaders of Israel and Egypt, I secured an agreement for a first shipment of humanitarian assistance from the United Nations to Palestinian civilians in Gaza – providing an opening for sustained delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance.”
