Earlier, Governor Yusuf announced 1,001 students were ready to leave Nigeria for various destination abroad.
He also disclosed, “$200” was made available for the scholars “that will keep them afloat throughout the duration of their transit to India”.
Governor Yusuf said: “The first set of sponsored students have departed for Mumbai via Lagos, on a chartered flight today.
“Other students will also depart through subsequent flights for their destinations. I am happy and grateful on their behalf for your support.
“Providing our scholars with an upkeep allowance of $200 that will keep them afloat throughout the duration of their transit to India, as we bade farewell to them this morning.”
