Gaza has not known peace since Israel launched its bombardment on the city as retaliation for the surprise attack on Israel by Palestinian fighters known as Hamas.

Hamas infiltrated and launched a surprise attack on Israel in the early hours of Saturday 7 October, 2023, killing hundreds of Israelis and taking several others hostage.

This forced Israel to launch ‘Operation Swords Of Iron’ to fight back and defend itself against Hamas.

Israel’s retaliatory airstrikes has been on the city of Gaza and innocent civilians have been paying with their lives for the “brutal” attack by Hamas on Israel.

The French President bared his mind on the situation in the region, and has come out to “support a two-state solution”, alongside the President of the United States (US), Joe Biden.

He added, “to organize the protection of the most vulnerable, a humanitarian truce is necessary.”

President Macron said: “In Gaza, the distinction must be made between Hamas and the civilian populations.

A humanitarian truce is necessary to organize the protection of the most vulnerable and better target action against terrorists.”
