Nigeria and Angola will slug it out in the quarter finals of the 2023 CAF Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) for a semi final spot on Friday 2 February, 2024.
To reach the quarter finals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 2-0 , while Angola discomfited Namibia 3-0, both in the round of 16.
Ahmad expects the Super Eagles to be “encouraged too”.
According to Bashir Ahmad: “I read that Angolan bank Banco Keve promises to reward Angolan players with $9,600 each if they beat Nigeria on Friday. At the same time, a diamond company, Social EP, in the country promises to reward the team with $250,000 if they qualify for the semifinals. Our Super Eagles should be ENCOURAGED, too. While the players are doing it for God and country, but such gestures may motivate them to do more.”
