The US President made the remark as a State funeral is held in honour of the former US Leader at Washington Cathedral in Washington DC today, Thursday 9 January, 2025.
39th President of the US, Jimmy Carter, died “surrounded by his family” on Sunday 29 December, 2024 in his home in Plains, Georgia.
President Biden wrote: “President Carter showed us how character and faith start with ourselves and flow to others – and how to make every minute of our time here on this Earth count.
That’s the good life.
Jimmy Carter lived it during his 100 years.
“Jimmy Carter’s friendship and life taught me that strength of character is more than the title or power we hold.
It’s the strength to understand that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.”
