Leon Goretzka opened scoring for Thomas Tuchel’s side in the 29th minute, and Harry Kane made it two in the last minute of the first half.
It was Kane’s 40th goal of the season in all competitions as a Bavarian, and his 33rd League goal of the season.
Müller netted a brace, the third and fifth goals, for the visitors in the 53rd and 66th minute; Mathys Tel scored the fourth in the 62nd minute.
Bayern Munich remains second on the table after amassing 66 points, while the loss forces Union Berlin into uncertainty as they stay relegation-threatened.
