Premier League 2023/24: Tottenham 2-3 Arsenal – ‘I feel really disappointed’ – Son post-defeat reaction

In his post-match comments, South Korean forward, Heung-Min Son, expressed his disappointment following his side’s defeat to Gunners at home on Sunday.

The Premier League 2023/23 match between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal saw Spurs fall 2-3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 28 April, 2024.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were already ahead by three goals before the hosts started fighting back; Ange Postecoglou’s side actually levelled, however, Micky Van den Ven’s goal was ruled out by VAR, which helped Arsenal clinched all three points.

Son, in his post-Arsenal comments, said, “I feel really disappointed, we can take some positives from the second half but we have to do better.”

Pierre-Emile Kordt Højbjerg hit the back of this own net in the 15th minute to hand Arsenal the opener, Bukayo Saka and Kai Haverts made it two and three in the 27th and 38th minutes respectively for the visitors.

Cristian Romero and Heung-Min Son netted the first and second (penalty) for Ange’s side in the 64th and 87th minutes respectively.

Tottenham manager, Ange, in his post-Arsenal comments, said: “It’s a disappointing outcome for us. We had to show some resilience and fight for our supporters (in the second half) and to be fair the lads did that.”

With this outcome, Arsenal remain toppers with 80 points from 35 encounters, 1 point trailed by Manchester City who defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0, however, the Cityzens have one unplayed game, while Tottenham are 5th with 60 points from 33 encounters.
