A boy, 13, has been charged with carrying a knife and assaulting a Police officer at school in Midlothian.

The incident happened at Newbattle High School on Monday.
The teenager has been arrested; the Police Scotland were called to the School in Dalkeith just after lunchtime after an alert by a community support officer.
According to Midlothian Council, children at the School were safe, and no one was hurt.
“A 13-year-old boy was charged in connection with offences including being in possession of a knife and police assault.
“A report will be submitted to the relevant authorities”, a spokesperson of Police Scotland disclosed.
