Leroy Sané scored a brace in the 7th and 48th minutes; R. Guerreiro scored in the 12th minute; injury returnee, Harry Kane, found the back of the net from the penalty spot in the 26th minute; and Serge Gnabry sealed win for the Bavarians in the 66th minute.
With this outcome, Bayern Munich remain toppers with 42 points, trailed by Bayer Leverkusen with 4 points, while Hoffenheim are 16th with 14 points.
Kompany, in his post-victory comments, said: “the scoreline shows how hungry we are – and we have to keep it that way.”
