Winter Olympics 2034: Salt Lake City to host games

Salt Lake City in Utah, United States (US) will host the Winter Olympics Games 2034, as announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Wednesday 24 July, 2024.

This is coming following a vote of the body’s members while the 2030 Winter Games will take place in the French Alps.

Thomas Bach, IOC President, announced Salt Lake City as the host of the 2034 games after it secured 83 “yes” votes, six “no” votes and six abstentions among members.

Governor of Utah State, Spencer Cox, expressed his gratitude to the IOC saying “more than 80% of Utahns and 100% of our elected leaders supported our Olympic bid.”

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has elected French Alps to host the XXVI Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2030 and Salt Lake City-Utah as host of the XXVII Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games four years later in 2034.
