The lives of three (3) Risso dolphins were saved by local residents after the mammals washed ashore in Orkney.

According to British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), members of the public did an “incredible job” of administering first aid until the arrival of medics from the mainland.
“With thanks to the residents and our medics all three dolphins were refloated back into the sea with no further signs of them the following morning”, a spokesperson said.
