The Super Falcons of Nigeria have suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 Football (Women) event with a 1-3 loss to Japan.

This result has helped Japan into the next round comfortably while Nigeria heads back home.
The Japanese dazzled their Nigerian opponents, adapting to the field by using the flanks beautifully well.
Maika Hamano opened scoring for Japan in the 22nd minute, Mina Tanaka made it two in the 32nd minute, before Jennifer Echegni pulled one back for the Super Falcons three (3) minutes to halftime.
Hikaru Kitagawa sealed victory for Japan in the 45+5th minute.
The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
