Premier League 2024/25: Southampton 0-3 Manchester United – Ten Hag’s side avoid third straight fall

Manchester United cruised past newly-promoted Southampton 3-0 in the Premier League 2024/25 match at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday 14 September, 2024.

The victory helped take some pressure off the shoulders of manager Erik Ten Hag, who suffered two straight defeats in the hands of Brighton and Liverpool in their previous top flight encounters.

In the 35th minute, Matthijs de Ligt opened scoring for the visitors, Marcus Rashford made it two in the 41st minute and Alejandro Garnacho sealed win for United late, in the 6th minute of additional time.

Southampton had the chance to score first when they won a penalty, however, Cameron Archer’s poorly-struck spot kick was saved by Andre Onana.
