Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, has described French Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco, as a “strong team”, saying, the Catalans “need to be aggressive and focused”.
AS Monaco will slug it out with Spanish giants, Barcelona, in the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase opener on Thursday 19 September, 2024 at Stade Louis II in Monaco, France at 20:00 (WAT).
At his press conference ahead of the European encounter, Hansi Flick said: “We want to play well. And we have done that. We can see the intensity and how the team presses.
““La Masia is the identity of the Club. We know that when we need a player we can find him at La Masia.
“We work very hard and we show it in games, we are always focused. Now we open Champions League play against Monaco, a strong team. We are prepared and we are on the right path.
“Ansu Fati is ready to play. When he is on the field, he really enjoys it; he has scored a lot of goals in training and we need players like him.
“The team has won every game in La Liga and is confident. Now, in a competition like the Champions League, we need to be aggressive and stay focused.”
