Okpebholo of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated Asue Ighodalo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), to emerge winner of the Edo State Governorship Election 2024 which was conducted on Saturday 21 September, 2024.
Okpebholo wrote: “Happy 64th Independence Day, Nigeria! As we celebrate our nation’s journey, I reflect on the strength, resilience, and unity that define us as a nation. This is a day to honor our shared history and to recommit to the future we all desire—one of progress, prosperity, and peace.
As Governor-Elect of Edo State, I am deeply committed to fostering these values within our beloved state and beyond. Together, we will build a stronger, united Nigeria.
May God bless Edo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
