President of the United States (US), Joe Biden, said, he is “calling on Congress to pass a comprehensive disaster package to provide the necessary resources for communities like those facing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.”

The US President disclosed, “to date, we have delivered more than $137 million in Individual Assistance, more than 14.9 million meals to those affected by Hurricane Helene.”
Hurricane Helene has claimed more than 200 lives, and destroyed properties across coastal States affected, including; North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida among others.
According to President Biden: “I’m calling on Congress to pass a comprehensive disaster package to provide the necessary resources for communities like those facing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene – to know that help will be ongoing, not just in the short-term, but the long-term as well.
“My Administration will continue to do whatever it takes to help those that need it most.
To date, we have delivered more than $137 million in Individual Assistance, more than 14.9 million meals and over 13.9 million liters of water to those affected by Hurricane Helene.”
