Hurricane Milton: ‘Several tornadoes likely across parts of central and southern Florida’

The US State of Florida gears up for Hurricane Milton which the National Hurricane Center (NHC) described as “extremely powerful”.

National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center forecasts “enhanced risk (3 of 5) associated with #Milton as several tornadoes are likely today and tonight across parts of central and southern Florida.”

According to NHC: “The @NWSSPC is forecasting an enhanced risk (3 of 5) associated with #Milton as several tornadoes are likely today and tonight across parts of central and southern Florida.


“The @NWSWPC is forecasting a high risk of flash flooding from #Milton with rainfall totals up to 18 inches over the Florida Peninsula. This rainfall brings the risk of catastrophic and life-threatening flash and urban flooding, along with moderate to major river flooding.”
