Peter Obi visited Asaba, Delta State, where he launched the campaign office of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The 2027 Presidential candidate of the NDC launched the Party’s campaign office alongside Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, Governorship Candidate of the Party in Delta State, other Delta State candidates, NDC party leaders, and members of the party on Thursday 24 September, 2026.
Via X, Obi announced: “On Thursday, 24th September, I joined our Governorship Candidate in Delta State, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, other Delta State candidates, our party leaders, and members of our party for the launching of the NDC campaign office in Asaba, Delta State.”
The former Governor of Anambra State described his visit to the South-South State as “opportunity” to keep on spreading the Party’s “message and commitment” to a “better” Nigeria.
He thanked Deacon Iyovwaye for his “commitment” to a “better” Delta State and Nigeria, as well as, extended gratitude to Deltans for the “reception and hospitality” he described as “wonderful”.
Obi said: “It was another opportunity to continue to spread our message and commitment to a better Nigeria. We must unite, secure our dear nation, and move it from consumption to production, create jobs, and pull our people out of poverty.
“I sincerely thank our Governorship Candidate, other leaders, and members of our party in Delta State for their commitment to a better Delta State and Nigeria. I also sincerely thank the good people of Delta State for the wonderful reception and hospitality accorded to us.”
