A red line has been announced by President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, to the Islamic Republic of Iran, vowing to “bomb and destroy” critical infrastructure in the Asian country for every attack against ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US President announced via Truth Social, America will “bomb and destroy” one power plant or bridge whenever Iran “shoots” at a ship in the Hormuz Strait.
The 47th President of the US further announced, the retaliatory attack will include critical infrastructure in the Iranian Capital, Tehran,
President Trump posted: “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran.”
In response to Trump’s announcement, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said, the “defence doctrine” of Iran is “clear”, which is “eye for an eye”.
Araghchi warned via X, Iran will be “compelled” to respond “powerfully and decisively” against any “aggression” targeted at the country or its infrastructure.
“Our defense doctrine is clear: eye for an eye”, the Iranian FM posted.
He continued: “Any aggression against Iran, including our infrastructure, will compel a powerful and decisive response.
“Those who contribute to such aggression, whatever the kind of support, will also be considered as legitimate targets.”

Trump has previously threatened to attack Iran’s electrical plants, water facilities and other infrastructure. Experts have warned that such attacks could constitute war crimes under international law.
