Tributes keep pouring in for America as the country celebrates its 250th anniversary today, Saturday 4 July, 2026.
250 years ago, a “small group” that comprised of “newspaper editors, farmers, and soldiers” put pen to paper, declaring the Independence of America.
112th Mayor of New York City, Zoran Kwame Mamdani, said, it is a “privilege” that Americans are living in a country “that every one of its inhabitants can shape”.
The Royal Family described celebrating America at 250 earlier as “great”; in April, King Charles III alongside Queen Camilla travelled to the United States (US) on a State Visit on the invitation of President Donald Trump, where the “milestone” anniversary was celebrated.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on behalf of “1.4 billion” Indians, extended “warmest” congratulations to President Trump and Americans as they mark their country’s 250th birthday.
He prayed, the next 250 years bring “greater prorperity, peace and progress” for America.
