Official: Brighton agree deal to sign Nigerian teenager Zadok Yohanna

Premier League Club, Brighton and Hove Albion, have reached an agreement to sign winger, Zadok Yohanna, from Swedish Club, AIK Stockholm, on a contract that will last for five (5) years, until June 2031.

However, the terms for the agreement remain undisclosed, the Club said.

Yohanna will seal his move to AMEX Stadium when the transfer widow reopens and it will be subject to the normal regulatory approvals.

The 18-year old Nigerian will join the Seagulls after establishing himself as one of the most promising prospects in Europe following his amazing impact in the highest level of the Swedish football League system, Allsvenskan, this season.

According to the Club’s official website, head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, said: “I’m looking forward to working with Zadok. Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player that can impact games in the final third.

“He’s still young, and will need time to adapt to the club and Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy.

“He’s dynamic, has pace and likes to take players on. His attributes and ability will be a real addition to our attacking options.”

Zadok Yohanna, who will turn nineteen (19) later this month, was born in Bauchi State, Nigeria, and fields as a right winger.

He kicked off his football career at Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before being recruited by Swedish club AIK in 2025.

Yohanna received his first ever call-up to the Nigeria Senior National Team and was set to take part in the Unity Cup 2026 held in London, however, AIK Stockholm declined to release him for international duty as he was in the final stage of recovery from a hamstring injury.

Nigeria went ahead to emerge Champions of the Unity Cup 2026 after cruising past Jamaica 3-0 in the final at Valley Stadium in London, England.
