Fenerbahçe sack Coach Tedesco after humiliating loss to Galatasaray

Turkish Süper Lig Football Outfit, Fenerbahçe, have announced, it has parted ways with head coach, Domenico Tedesco.

Tedesco was relieved of his managerial duties alongside his technical staff.

The sacking of the Italian-German pro football manager is coming some hours after the Yellow-Navy Blues were walloped 3-0 in the top flight encounter on Sunday 26 April, 2026 at RAMS Park in Istanbul.

Via a Public Announcement, Fenerbahçe made known: “In line with the decisions taken at the meeting of our board of directors;

“We have parted ways with our Technical Director Domenico Tedesco and his technical staff.”

Fenerbahçe also sacked its Sports Director, Devin Özek, and, Football Coordinator, Berke Çelebi.

The Club further made known, Zeki Murat Göle, Assistant Coach, will take over as manager on temporary basis for the remainder of the season.

Fenerbahçe expressed its gratitude to them for their “contribution” and “wish them success in their future careers”.

Currently, Fenerbahçe are trailing Galatasaray, who are Süper Lig toppers, by seven (7) points.

The Yellow-Navy Blues will face Istanbul Basaksehir next in a Süper Lig game on Saturday 2 May, 2026 at 18:00 (WAT) at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Istanbul.
