Arne Slot, Liverpool Head Coach

Andre scores winner in stoppage time as Wolves stun Liverpool 2-1 at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers, bottom club, shocked reigning Kings of England, Liverpool, 2-1 on Tuesday 3 March, 2026 in the Premier League 2025/26 match at Molineux thanks to a stoppage time winner from Andre.

In the 73rd minute, Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Tolu Arokodare, provided for substitute, Rodrigo Gomes, who converted for the hosts, but, in the 83rd minute, forward Mohamed Salah, restored parity to the game.

Wolves, a team seemingly bound for the English second tier, Championship, netted the winner on home turf in the 4th minute of additional time through Andre.

A win for Arne Slot’s Reds would have elevated Liverpool into top four.

With this result, Liverpool remain below top four, in the fifth spot with forty-eight (48) points from twenty-nine (29) games, while, Wolves are stuck on the 20th spot with sixteen (16) points from thirty (30) games.

The visitors charged from the beginning of the second half, with substitute Curtis Jones unable to score from a yard out when Cody Gakpo incomprehensibly toed it away from him on the line. And Liverpool suffered for it on the break when Tolu Arokodare overpowered Dutch central defender Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk, Reds Captain, was unable to stop the Nigerian striker, who released for Gomes, who lifted the ball over goalkeeper, Alisson, under pressure from Ibrahima Konate.

Salah’s goal, his first in the top flight in 122 days, was not enough to rescue a point for the Reds as Andre’s late winner struck Joe Gomez and into the net to hand the hosts a fine win.
