Arsenal mercilessly trounced Tottenham Hotspur by a whopping four (4) goals to one (1) on Sunday 22 February, 2026 in the Premier League 2025/26 match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyökeres both netted a brace for the visitors as the Gunners ensured they tormented the Spurs right on their home turf in the North London Derby.
The victory was a “statement” from Mikel Arteta’s camp, making it clear to the other teams that Arsenal is still very much active in the race for the Premier League 2025/26 title.
Arsenal have now moved five (5) points clear atop second-placed Manchester City, who have a game unplayed; the showdown against Tottenham had the Gunners perform with complete intent and aggression after their annoying 2-2 draw in the top flight match against Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek.
“This result is just what Mikel Arteta would have wanted to quieten down the noise after those last few results”, former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, said.
Arsenal emerged winner in their first meeting with a 4-1 triumph at Emirates Stadium with Eze, former Crystal Palace star, netting a hat-trick and then saving the best for Spurs again on Sunday.
In the 32nd minute, Eze opened the scoring for Arsenal from close range; it was his first goal since that treble in November.
The visitors were in full dominance of the clash, but, allowed the Spurs in for just some seconds and paid for it when Randal Kolo Muani finished powerfully to level for the hosts.
Tottenham Hotspur’s leveller only infuriated Arsenal, who quickly took the lead again after just two (2) minutes into the second 45 minutes through Swedish striker, Gyökeres; and in the 61st minute Eze added the third for the visitors from a rebound.
At 3-1, it became clear the Gunners were crusing to three (3) crucial points; and in the 4th minute of additional time, the Sweden International converted Leandro Trossard’s assist to put the icing on the cake.
