Donald Trump, President of the United States (US), has slammed Denmark, France, Germany, the United Kingdom (UK) and other European countries with “10%” tariff for their “refusal” to allow the United States (US) take control of Greenland.
The US President said, America has “subsidized” Denmark alongside all the countries in the European Union (EU) for “many” years “by not charging them Tariffs”, adding, after hundreds of years, “it is time for Denmark to give back”.
Trump issued a stern warning, saying, “world peace is at stake!”, if America is not allowed to take over Greenland.
He said, “China and Russia” have their eyes on Greenland, and that, Denmark cannot do anything about it.
Greenland is the world’s largest island and lies between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. It is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. And of the Kingdom’s three constituent parts, Greenland is the largest by land area – the others being Denmark proper and the Faroe Islands.
Citizens of Greenland are citizens of Denmark.

President Trump posted on Truth Social: “We have subsidized Denmark, and all of the Countries of the European Union, and others, for many years by not charging them Tariffs, or any other forms of remuneration.
“Now, after Centuries, it is time for Denmark to give back — World Peace is at stake! China and Russia want Greenland, and there is not a thing that Denmark can do about it.”
In this Greenland “game” with China and Russia, the US Leader said, he alone can play it and “very successfully at that!”.
Trump further warned, nobody will “touch” Greenland, which he described as a “sacred piece of land” particularly since the National security of America and the world “is at stake”.
He said, for “purposes unknown”, France, Germany, the United Kingdom (UK), and others have “journeyed” to Greenland, adding, it is a “very dangerous” situation for planet Earth’s “safety, security and survival”.

President Trump posted: “They currently have two dogsleds as protection, one added recently. Only the United States of America, under PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP, can play in this game, and very successfully, at that!
“Nobody will touch this sacred piece of Land, especially since the National Security of the United States, and the World at large, is at stake.
“On top of everything else, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Finland have journeyed to Greenland, for purposes unknown.
“This is a very dangerous situation for the Safety, Security, and Survival of our Planet.
Trump announced, his administration has slammed Denmark, France, Germany, the United Kingdom (UK), alongside others with “10%” tariff” on goods sent to America effective February 1, 2026.
He explained, the “strong” measures will help ensure the protection of world peace and security; saying, the tariff will swell to “25%” on June 1, 2026.
President Trump further posted: “Therefore, it is imperative that, in order to protect Global Peace and Security, strong measures be taken so that this potentially perilous situation end quickly, and without question.
“Starting on February 1st, 2026, all of the above mentioned Countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Finland), will be charged a 10% Tariff on any and all goods sent to the United States of America.
“On June 1st, 2026, the Tariff will be increased to 25%.”
Trump made it clear, the United States (US) will continue to charge these countries in the European Union with tariffs until they agree to a deal for America to execute a “complete and total” purchase of Greenland.

He said, the US has been working towards buying Greenland for more than “150” years; many American Presidents have tried, but, “Denmark has always refused”.
President Trump posted: “This Tariff will be due and payable until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland. The United States has been trying to do this transaction for over 150 years. Many Presidents have tried, and for good reason, but Denmark has always refused.”
The 45th and 47th US President said, America is “immediately” open to negotiation with Denmark over Greenland as he believes the US should have Greenland after “all that we have done for them”, encompassing, “maximum protection” for these European countries for tens of years.
President Trump posted: “The United States of America is immediately open to negotiation with Denmark and/or any of these Countries that have put so much at risk, despite all that we have done for them, including maximum protection, over so many decades.”
