Joshua destroys Paul in sixth round in fight in Miami

Anthony Joshua, British Heavyweight Boxer, stopped American YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, in the sixth round of the contest which took place at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, United States (US) on Friday 19 December, 2025.

Paul, who refused to engage and kept on dancing around the ring, suffered heavy blows from the Briton and ultimately surrendered in round six.

Joshua, a two-time Champion, eventually asserted himself by knocking down the novice boxer twice in the fifth round.

The American was down once again in the sixth round before Joshua dropped a vigorous and clean right hand that forced a dreamlike night to an unanticipated conclusion in America.

After conceding the bone-crushing punch from the Briton, Paul was unable to beat the count, however, there was perceptible relief inside the venue when he was able to stand to his feet and exit the ring without help.

Joshua, 36 years of age, in his post-fight comments, said: “It wasn’t the best performance.

“The end goal was to pin Jake Paul down and hurt him. It took a bit longer than expected, but the right hand finally found the destination.”

The victory was Joshua’s 29th in 33 fights and can now move on to more serious fights; the result on Friday was what the world has astoundingly expected due to the enormous gap in power, size and of course experience.

And to his rival, Joshua said: “Come and fight one of the ‘realest’ fighters out there, step in there with me next if you’re a really bad boy.”

Paul, who managed to throw some punches at his Briton opponent, failed to fulfil his promise of pulling off the biggest upsets in the history of boxing.
