Meter upgrade requires that existing meters be updated to a new specification so that they can continue to accept meter tokens.
What is STS?
STS stands for Standard Transfer Specification. It is a standard protocol for the transfer of credit from the point of sale to the energy meter.
For recharging, a lot of prepaid meters use token codes. There are built-in expiration dates on these codes. As a result, your present meter may become obsolete if you don’t upgrade it before the token rollover. Above all, upgrading guarantees that your meter will continue to work and be compatible with the most recent recharge systems.
